A fun demonstration session about balloon basics and designs.
On was burton + BURTON'S first designer and has been creating unique designs for their catalogs and advertisements for over 20 years. She has been a CBA (certified balloon artist) since 1994 and has conducted classes and seminars nationwide. Full of energy, she makes the classroom fun and exciting while sharing her creative ideas.
Balloon Column and Arch Workshop – Ballooniversity

This will be a hands-on session with participants building a basic balloon column or arch.

A motivational talk highlighting the past 50 years of NACUFS.
Bill May has a long and distinguished career in the college foodservice industry. He was the Director of Food Service at Georgia Southern University from 1975-1984, and the Director of Dining Service at Wofford College from 1984 – 1999. He has been active in NACUFS his entire career, serving as President in 1984-1985, and earning the Theodore W. Minah Award in 1998. Mr. May is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Development for WCDK Marketing.

J. Michael Floyd- Director of Food Services
A thirty year veteran of college food services has led the University of Georgia Food Service team since 1986. Under his leadership the team has earned 66 national food service awards. These awards include the Ivy Award of Distinction, 2002 Silver Plate Award, Onsite Best Concept award, FM Leadership Award and 59 Loyal E Horton Awards. The division was recently recognized by Governor Sonny Purdue with a Governor’s Commendation for Excellence in Customer Service for its 24 hour meal plan service. He is known by many of his colleagues as “Mr Marketer” and is sought after by groups such as NACUFS, NACAS, NACUBO, DMA and ACUI as a presenter on marketing. He has served as a faculty member of the NACUFS Marketing Institute since its inception. In March 2008, he received the highest accolade of his career when he was inducted into University of Georgia Sphinx Club by students for his service and commitment to the University. The Sphinx Club is the highest non academic honor that can be bestowed upon students, faculty and staff at the University of Georgia.
Tour of Jittery Joe’s Coffee Roasting Plant

This will be an informal visit to the Jittery Joe's Coffee roasting plant that is one block from the Classic Center. Charlie Mustard will conduct a tour of the plant, and offer a tasting of wonderful coffee.
An Environmental Perspective on Disposable Packaging
Speaker: Sharon Prothe, Huhtamaki
Packaging Sustainability is intended to give the food service professional the knowledge to select, use, and dispose of packaging in an environmentally preferred manner. The emphasis will be on "sustainability" which emphasizes a closed loop approach to raw materials, usage and disposal.
Sharon Prothe is the Marketing Manager at Huhtamaki, a global packaging company based in Finland and serving the consumer products, foodservice and retail markets. Her responsibility includes new product development, category management, brand building, creative strategies and implementing plans for profitable, sustainable growth in the America’s. She joined Huhtamaki in 2007 and is active in the foodservice sustainability movement. Sharon’s foodservice career includes previous positions within the College and University and School Nutrition segments utilizing her expertise in operations management.
